Occupational Therapy & Sensory Integration
Clinical Overview
Occupational Therapy (OT) at JSK Center focuses on enabling children to perform daily tasks with independence. By combining systematic fine motor training with sensory integration therapies in our custom gym, we resolve sensory sensitivities, physical coordination gaps, and self-care limitations.
Challenges We Resolve
Sensory Processing Issues (SPD)
Hypersensitivity (extreme reactions to loud noises, clothing textures, crowds) or hyposensitivity (constant spinning, jumping, or touching objects).
Fine Motor Coordination Gaps
Weak finger strength, leading to poor pencil grip, difficulty using scissors, feeding, buttoning clothes, or tying shoelaces.
Bilateral & Gross Motor Coordination Deficits
Difficulty coordinating both sides of the body, leading to frequent tripping, poor balance, posture issues, or struggle with catching a ball.
JSK's Treatment Methodology
Sensory Profile Mapping
We evaluate the child's responses to vestibular, proprioceptive, tactile, visual, and auditory inputs to pinpoint specific sensory integration triggers.
Sensory Integration Gym Gymnast
Utilizing custom suspended swings, climbing nets, balance beams, and tactile paths to help the child's nervous system organize and process sensory inputs.
Fine Motor & Hand Rehab
Engaging in targeted exercises with therapeutic clay, pinboards, peg exercises, and cutting tasks to build hand strength and grip precision.
Self-Care Task Breakdown
Applying task analysis to break daily living activities (feeding, dressing, hygiene) into simple, easily learnable physical movements.
